Gobble, gobble!

Matt and I have so many things to be thankful for this year. We were blessed with Mr. Nate in March, we both have jobs, and we have a lot of friends and family who love us very much. Matt had to work on Thanksgiving, but he made it home by 10 am. We cooked a Thanksgiving meal here at home this year and spent the day hanging out and dealing with Nate (aka Mr. Fussy Pants). Mr. Fussy Pants spent the day sleeping and fussing. We didn't find out until Friday why. He was busy cutting a tooth! We now have one working its way through the top! Nate wore his Thanksgiving duds and enjoyed some turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, and green beans! I took a few pictures to commemorate the event!

Early in the day before all of the festivities!

 Nate's meal :-)

Busy eating like a big boy!

Looking stuffed!

He was such a fan of the food he had leftovers with us Friday!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Here's to a fun-filled holiday season!

The Sea World Adventure

Over Veteran's Day weekend Matt and I were able to take Mr. Man to Sea World. Like the great procrastinators that we are, we decided Friday morning that we would head out Friday afternoon. It worked out somewhat well because Matt got us an Expedia last minute deal to stay at the Gaylord Palms Hotel. It was crazy! They had alligators at the hotel -- yes, I said alligators. We arrived around 8pm after a stop at Fuddruckers for some burgers. Nate even had his own crib this time! The sweet baby didn't have to sleep in a chair!

He liked his crib much better than the chair!

He also liked our bed, his toys, and the wipes!

The alligators at the hotel.

We got up the next morning and headed off to Sea World. Nate was well rested and wasn't going down for a nap so we decided to start the day. We got there and looked at the flamingos, birds, and seals before Nate decided it was nap time. He crashed for about an hour and a half while Matt and I ate lunch and walked around a bit.

Flamingos!

This sea turtle was amazing! It was so huge!

Nate posing with the sea turtle.

It was a bright day so we wore our shades.

The birds were really close....

The seals were pretty cool, too!

Nate, Matt, and a seal.

When Nate woke up we watched them feed the dolphins before going back through the shark tunnel, watching the penguins, visiting the aquarium, and watching the Shamu show. Nate was a fan! He danced to the music while holding on to his spoon. (It's the little things in life that keep him happy!) After the Shamu show we decided to call it a day. We went back to the hotel, napped, watched football, and had a lazy night!

The dolphins were cool.

Nate liked watching the dolphins, but was not fond of them splashing him.

Strolling along! I wish I had someone to push me around Sea World!!

We decided to pose in front of the waterfall.

Nate loved looking at the fish as they swam around!

The Shamu show was a lot of fun!

Taking a break from watching the whales.

More whale tricks!

On Sunday we got up and headed out into the hotel to take a few pictures of Mr. Man. He was somewhat cooperative and we got a few good pictures.

Nate = early riser. Matt = late sleeper.

Mr. Nate sitting on a bench in the hotel. (Matt was close by in case he decided to move forward or backward!)

He loved the koi in the pond. We watched them and the waterfall for awhile!

The view from our hotel balcony.

We packed the car and headed to the outlet mall for a little shopping. We got Nate a few Christmas gifts, grabbed lunch, and drove home. Nate slept the entire way home. When we got home he was awake for about an hour before taking another 2 hour nap! Sea World had worn him out! We had a great time and with any luck hopefully we'll be able to take more trips like this in the future.

Happy Vacation, Matt and Happy Birthday, Nate!

Matt was granted one of his very few weeks of vacation the week of Veteran's Day. He was excited to have a break from the hustle and bustle of the hospital. He bought some new video games and prepared himself for a week of R&R. Well, Nate had a little change of plans for his daddy. Saturday morning Nate was extra fussy and was not quite acting himself. By the time Matt got home from work I had determined that Nate had fallen victim to the nasty stomach bug that was going through his day care. I am sad that Nate was sick, but I was very thankful that it happened the week Matt was off so I didn't have to take off work. We kept Nate out of day care Monday and Tuesday and we decided that he was over it by Wednesday. Matt got to enjoy a round of golf on Wednesday before the weather turned sour on Thursday. Thankfully it was a short week for me and I was out of school on Friday! Over the course of this week Nate celebrated his 8 month birthday! Our little baby is not so little anymore!!

He was not happy this night. Poor baby just wanted to sleep!

I kept trying!

No cooperation from this one!

On another note, he's finally figured out the bottle deal!
Yay, Nate!

He was busy playing with me this night!

Matt and Nate had a pretty good week. I was excited because I got to sleep in 30 extra minutes! On Friday we decided to take Nate to Sea World. Details on the trip will come with the next blog!

Happy Halloween! (from our garden to yours)

What kind of parents would Matt and I be if we didn't take advantage of the opportunity to dress up our child for Halloween? I mean we only have a few Halloweens to dress him as we choose before he has a say in the matter! Nate was going to be Jack Skellington for Halloween, but that costume didn't really pan out. So, we decided on something much, much better! Our darling little Nate is going to be a garden gnome for his first Halloween! Yesterday we dressed him up in his costume and attempted to take a few pictures. We took the pictures indoors because it had rained earlier in the morning and it was all wet outside. Nate didn't have many smiles for us, but he sure does make one cute gnome! Upon the advice of our friend Andrea, I have been looking for a gnome to put next to Nate for some photo ops. I have not successfully found a little statue just yet, but I have not stopped looking! I am hoping to get him outside tomorrow and take a few pictures of him in the grass (where you would find a real gnome), but until then here are a few shots of our little Halloween gnome! I think he'll thank us for this costume later in life! ;-)

He was all smiles before I got the costume on him!

He's a happy baby!

He is also obsessed with the pumpkins!

I call this the "Why?" look.

We're getting closer to a smile!

He's pretty much over it by this point and has decided to play with the pumpkins.

Definitely over it by now! Thanks to the magic of Photo Shop you don't see Matt's hand holding him up!

Maybe we will have more pictures to follow of Nate the gnome outside! Happy Halloween everyone!!

Happy Fall!

I got creative today and took some pictures of Mr. Nate posing with some pumpkins. Some turned out absolutely adorable and I thought I would share!

I'm going to eventually figure out photo shop and learn how to clean them up a little! For now I'll just practice getting him to smile! :-)
